When my sea moth powers down it really does send me into a panic. But on top of all of that is the damn emp.
Their creepy, the noise is eerily terrifying, and they can really sneak up on you. The crab squid: During my playthrough I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and build a base in the blood kelp zone although I later changed my mind after a trip in there. The warper is still scary after over a hundred hours of seeing it and learning to avoid it (although I’ll admit if I had my anti-warper gun I MEAN repulsion cannon it would’ve been much less scary) It hasn’t even attacked me yet but I was sweating, I was panicked, I was terrified. I figured I’d swing by after my trip to the floating island with the degasi bases and Lifepod 19, but all of the sudden, a warper appeared. The warper: the other day I was out by the sea treader’s path wreck. There are a ton creatures that I find terrifying, and I mean absolutely horrifying. Let’s talk about the the original Subnautica. The only things in the game that are truly terrifying after I’ve sunk 30 hours into it are the leviathans.
I mean, when I see a leviathan in bz the feeling comes right back but I’ve come to realize something. I know where everything is, I know where all of the leviathans spawn, but unlike below zero I’m still scared. I’ve recently started a new play through of the original Subnautica, and that terror that we all feel really is back. I’d say this was expected, but it really wasn’t. Going into new area for the first time was always nerve racking, but I feel like that feeling has disappeared now that I’ve discovered all of the creatures/environments in the game. When I first started below zero, I was very terrified of new environments, much like I was in the old Subnautica.
